My name is Antoinette Thornton, I am the founder of Residential Adolescent Community Services, INC.
I am a Generalist Social Work Practitioner with a bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited university, I hold a Certification as a Peer Support Specialist for the state of North Carolina, and I am an experienced professional who facilitates mental health/substance abuse groups and works with individuals 1:1. I aim to impact the lives of others. I have held positions as a Program Director for a group home, as well as an admissions coordinator for a reputable substance use treatment facility. I have worked in the human service field for over 10 years. I am a qualified professional who works with individuals who have mental health diagnoses and some who are dually diagnosed with substance abuse and mental health.
The roles I have held allowed for collaboration with many community organizations including the Mecklenburg County mayor’s office and relationships with private as well as public organizations throughout Mecklenburg County. My skills include a review of clinical assessments, person-centered plans, and crisis plans for consumers with mental health, and substance abuse diagnoses, and their families. I live to serve, which is one of my most valuable assets.
I look forward to continuing to serve our minor children and adolescents who I believe are our most valuable commodity to society as they are our future leaders.
Our goal is to support our minor children and adolescents with the knowledge of their mental health diagnosis, aid them with services provided in our community to obtain cognitive behavioral therapy, and offer structures for their life to be successful as they matriculate their way to adulthood.
